Instant Traction at Your Command™

The Insta-Chain technical support team is available by phone Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm Mountain Time.  You may also reach us via email at: – Engineering and Tech Support – President

Tips for requesting technical support:

When you call in, we like to know as much information as possible about the vehicle and what is wrong with the system.

If you are calling in for Arms, Cylinder Bracket parts, or Mounting Brackets please have the following information available.

  • Driver or Passenger side
  • If the units are mounted in Front or Behind the axle
  • Part number if possible.  If you are not sure, you can look in the Parts Catalog, or we can help you identify the parts.

In order to provide you with the best chain unit for your application and reduce lead time for your Insta-Chain system, please fill out the Vehicle Suspension Information (VSI) form as correctly as possible.   All of the information is important to the design of your system.  When there is missing information, our engineering department has to guess or make additional phone calls to verify information.

There are a few vehicles that do have standard brackets.  Consult an Insta-Chain representative if you have any questions.

When installing the Insta-Chain system, there are a few shortcuts that you can do to make the installation go easier.

  1. Be sure the vehicle is on level ground or level while on a lift
  2. Mark the ‘Centerline’ of the tire before installing the units (this is easier without the unit installed)
  3. Install mounting brackets then the Chain Units.
  4. Use a ball valve and air quick connect to test the Chain Units and make all the final adjustments (NOTE:  When using a ball valve to test the units, be sure that the ball valve is closed and you are clear of all moving parts before connecting the air line to the valve.  Before disconnecting the air line, be sure the valve is closed, and you are clear of all moving parts).
  5. Find a suitable place for the Solenoid Valve near the Chain Units if possible and install it.
  6. Install the Switch on the dash board in a convenient place for the driver to operate.
  7. Connect all the Air and Electrical hoses and wires.
  8. Air up the vehicle and test the chains, be sure to stay away from the moving parts.
  9. Test the units in the parking lot or on the street.
